Description:
Marzemino Poiema shows an intense ruby red with violet hues, lively and bright. The nose smells a rich and intense bouquet, openly expresses floral and fruity scents, with violets and raspberries clearly visible, while clear sensations of blackcurrants, blackberries and elegant spices slowly emerge. In the mouth it shows a fine character, wood and fruit perfectly balanced, seems very fresh, The tannins are soft, quite silky, but enveloping and flattering. A red wine with good development prospects, which is certainly not a matter of course with this Rebosrte.

Production area:
Poiema comes from the deep loamy alluvial soils in the Ziresi (cherry orchards) area of Volano.
Vinification:
30% dried grapes for about 30/40 days. vinification fresh grapes and re-fermentation dried grapes. Maturation for 12 months in 700 and 500 litre barrels, cherry, chestnut and oak wood, and 12 months in the bottle. Fermentation with natural yeasts.
The vinification process is special and recalls the "governo" technique of Chianti. A part of the grapes is harvested and placed to dry, while the rest completes its maturation in the vineyard. The wine obtained from the grapes harvested when naturally ripe is re-fermented with the grapes left to dry in the fruttaio and then aged for 12 months in large, unroasted barrels, also using cherry wood. Long final refinement in the bottle.

Goes very well with pasta dishes, braised red meat or goulash, risotto, matured cheeses.
