Description:
White pepper, fresh blackberry and a warm nose. This Lagrein Riserva is in a different league. Noticeable wood, slightly vanilla-like, and yet wonderful freshness on the finish.

Production area:
St. Justina Schwarhof "Pitsch" (2001), St. Justina Kohlerhof "Braun" (2000), St. Justina Kohlerhof (1965), Gries Gyulaihof (2011/1980), Bolzano village "Oberpayersberg" (1987) on sandy loam and moraine soils.
Vinification:
The fermentation takes place spontaneously with Pied de Cuve. 50% is matured for 12 months in new barrique barrels and 50% in used barrique barrels for 12 months. This is followed by a further 12 months of ageing in used tonneau barrels and finally the wine rests for a further 6 months in steel tanks.
Food pairing:
Best enjoyed with game, roasts, dark meats and hard cheeses.

16 - 18°C.

The Loacker family has been a pioneer of organic-biodynamic viticulture in Italy and Europe since 1979. Vernatsch and Lagrein are typical South Tyrolean grape varieties and are cultivated on 7 hectares of vineyard. International varieties, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon also grow well on the steep slopes above Bolzano. Take a break from the heat and crowds of Bolzano and drive to Sanct Justina along the Rittnerstrasse. The historic winery Loacker, with its modern SKYWINE PAVILLON, gives you a great view of the Rosengarten while looking down on Bolzano.
