Description:
Lively ruby red colour. Elegant, fresh, fruity bouquet with hints of wild berries such as raspberries and wild cherries. Well-structured flavour, markedly tannic, leaving an elegant and persistent aftertaste on the palate.

Production area:
Merano, Vinschgau at 350 - 550 m. Light, permeable soil of moraine origin, disintegration slate, granite and gneiss, poor, sandy soil.
Vinification:
Temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation takes place in a wide-entrance vat where the must is stirred for about 15 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in used barriques or small oak barrels.
Food pairing:
Ideal with game in general, suckling lamb, roast rabbit and hard cheeses.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 5 years.

The Winery Merano Burggräfler arose from the merger of two traditional wineries: the Winery Merano and the Winery Burggräfler. A total of 370 members, small and micro producers, cultivate about 250 hectares of the best vineyards in Merano and the surrounding areas Lagundo, Tirolo, Caines, Rifiano, Scena, Marlengo, Cermes, Lana and the Val Venosta Valley. Thanks to their combined strenght the winegrowing in the western part of South Tyrol obtains a new and interesting profile.
