Bricco del Drago Langhe 2021 - 14% vol. Poderi Colla

Description: 
Very intense and deep ruby red colour with the violet reflections typical of Dolcetto. Elegant bouquet due to the perfect fusion of the finesse of Nebbiolo with the volume of Dolcetto. A repertoire of spicy and vinous notes, typical of the two grape varieties, which unite in maturity. In the mouth it has intensity and length, giving it surprising possibilities for ageing. Some of the world's greatest wines are the result of blends, Bricco del Drago is perhaps the most historic and authentic Italian interpretation, made exclusively from autochthonous Piedmontese grapes.

approx. 85% Dolcetto, approx. 15% Nebbiolo - Langhe DOC. 

Production area: 
Cascine Drago - Located on the hill Bricco del Drago in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio di Alba, it houses the customer reception, offices and the Degiacomi Museum: an interesting collection of tools for working in the field, vineyard and cellar. There are original 19th century machines for making Metodo Classico sparkling wine, used by Pietro Colla (Beppe and Tino's father) until the 1970s. 

Vinification: 
The two grapes, harvested by hand, are vinified separately as the maturation takes place at different times: The blending of the two wines is carried out later. The maceration lasts about 5 - 8 days for the Dolcetto and about 10 - 12 days for the Nebbiolo at a maximum temperature of about 25° and 30°C respectively. The maceration in oak barrels lasts at least one year. 

Food pairing: 
Pair with strong and tasty dishes such as gnocchi with tomato sauce, grilled meats and preparations with civet. 

Serving temperature: 
16 - 18°C. 

Ageing potential: 
more than 8 years.
