Amarone Pietro del Cero 2017 - 16% vol. Cà dei Frati

Description: 
The ruby colour captivates with its tone and intensity. The fruit is exuberant with a very pleasurable sour cherry taste, merged with hints of chocolate and sweet spices. The subtlety enhances the floral component of the purple rose. Balsamic notes emerge with increasing conviction, along with hints of star anise and wild gooseberry. The tertiary elements are subtle and leave the perception of pleasurable notes of arabica and mild tobacco. 

Grape variety: 
Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina - Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 

Production area: 
Valpolicella on the Pian di Castagnè in the Luxinum vineyard. Limestone, white shingle and clay soil. 

Vinification: 
withering in boxes for 4 months, maceration in steel with prolonged contact. Refined in barriques for 24 months, followed by 12 months in steel and 24 months in the bottle. 

Food pairing: 
It finds its utmost expression at the table with seasoned cheeses, well-cooked meats, braised dishes and game. 

Serving temperature: 
16 - 18°C. 

Ageing potential: 
more than 10 years.

750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.

wine can contain sulphites.

Cà dei Frati 
The Ca’ dei Frati company has been renowned since 1782, as confirmed by a document that refers to "a house with a cellar located in Lugana in the Sermion district known as the place of the Friars”. In 1939, Felice Dal Cero, son of Domenico, formerly a wine grower in Montecchia di Crosara near Verona, moved to that very house in Lugana di Sirmione, immediately realising the area’s potential for vine cultivation. After thirty years working in the vineyard and the cellar, his son Pietro took part in the creation of the DOC in 1969, bottling his first wine with the label Lugana Casa dei Frati, later named Ca’ dei Frati. In 2012, Pietro Dal Cero passed away, leaving the cultural legacy to his wife Santa Rosa and children Igino, Gian Franco and Anna Maria, who run the company with the same passion and determination.
