Description:
Mineral bouquet with notes of ripe smoke, bananas, apples and nuts. The palate is well structured, salty, with beautiful acidity. This Chardonnay shines with elegance, depth and passion.
Burgum Novum, derived from the Latin name of the village 'Neumarkt', is the place where the winery was founded and is therefore a symbol of authenticity and rootedness. Since 1989, the winery's flagship wines have been known by this name and are the result of precise manual work in the vineyard, but above all of traditional winemaking in the cellar.

Selected vineyards in the Bassa Atesina. Soils composed of limestone gravel from moraine sediments.
Vinification:
Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, 18 months of maturation in barrique and malolactic fermentation, 6 months of ageing in stainless steel and 6 months in bottle.
Food pairing:
ideal with grilled vegetables, cheese, fish and white meat.
Serving temperature:
12 - 14°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 8 years.

The Castelfeder Estate Winery was founded in Egna more than 50 years ago by Alfons Giovanett, but since that time, hardly anything has remained the same. “The product line has been expanded, production has increased, the processes in the winery have been modernized, and the market has become more international,” says Günther Giovanett, who took over the estate from his father Alfons and runs it with his children Ivan and Ines. Today, the Castelfeder Estate Winery encompasses 65 hectares, on which 70 percent is planted with white wine varieties.“The focus is on Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc,” Giovanett explains. With the red wines, the concentration is on Pinot Noir.
