Description:
The Valpolicella Superior Ferragù is a wine of great temper and structure which completely departs from the usual category wine. It is a wine with a faceted personality, vivid color, noble and excellent tannic persistence.

Intense ruby red colour. A fruit flavor reaches the nose and it perfectly blends itself with spiced and vanilla flavor. It results full, smooth and persistent to the mouth. A clean wine, of great content. A wine of stature with superb clarity.

Grape varierty:
Corvina, Corvinone, Croatina, Oseleta, Rondinella - Valpolicella superiore DOC

Production area:
Cellore, hamlet of Illasi - east-west exposure to sunshine; altitude: 220 meters above sea level - medium texture soil, presence of skeleton.

Vinification:
Raisin-drying 30 days; crushing/destemming, controlled temperature fermentation with inoculation of selected yeasts (saccharomyces cerevisiae). Refinemente for 24 months in amnerican oak barriques. Aging for 6 months in the bottle before sale.

Food pairing:
The Ferragù's Valpolicella Superior is a great fine red wine which can remarkably well atend red meats, braised meats, roast and most of all venison. It's also suggested with salami, aged cheese and typical dishes.

Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.

Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.

The Ferragù estate covers eight hectares of vineyards and about one hectare of land planted with olive trees. They not only adorn the lazy pattern of sun-kissed trellises in the height of summer, but also immerse us in the hushed silence near Sorcé di Sopra, two hundred and forty metres above sea level.

Carlo Ferragù's wine cellar is divided into two floors: the upper part, the newest and most modern, has the equipment necessary to carry out the transformation from must to wine step by step; the second part, the oldest, with its thick, low vaulted walls and shiny old wooden doors that shelter and guard the barrels in a suggestive place, especially when lit, because it is almost veiled in a golden blanket; a place where silence reigns and is as sacred as the temperature that permeates every stone.
