Aromas of ripe pears with an elegant spiciness, some white pepper, floral notes and notes of ripe apple with a hint of yoghourt. Bottle to: 750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.
Description: This special wine has a radiant straw yellow color. On the nose, it presents aromas of ripe pears with an elegant spiciness, some white pepper, floral notes and notes of ripe apple with a hint of yoghourt. Juicy on the palate with a fresh and lively acidity, elegant structure with fine minerality leading up to a fresh and persistent finish. The noble Pinot Bianco. A single-variety wine with fine fruity finesse.
Production area: The grapes for this Pinot Bianco mature at an altitude of approx. 550 m on chalk gravel soil in the sun-blessed monastery vineyards in Appiano Monte, where they are harvested from selected plots.
Vinification: Fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks and continues in wooden barrels. The wine is then aged 70% in large wooden barrels and 30% in barriques, where it remains on the lees for 16 months. In order to preserve the fruity finesse unadulterated all the way to the bottle, the cellar master makes very restrained use of oak in the winemaking process.
Food pairing: Best enjoyed slightly chilled with roast veal tenderloin, roast rabbit, grilled octopus and mature cheeses.
Serving temperature: 14 - 16°C.
Ageing potential: more than 8 years.
Bottle to: 750 ml - 75 cl - 0.75 lt.
Allergens: Wine can contain sulphites.
Producer: Wine Estate Monastery Cellar Muri-Gries In 1845 the Benedictines moved from Muri in Switzerland to Gries in South Tyrol, where the order took over the Augustinian monastery. In so doing, they inherited a long tradition of wine-growing, which they nurtured in the spirit of a symbiosis of monastery, winery and estate that is still very much in evidence today. The result, in the 21st century, is a range of top-quality wines from MURI-GRIES like the Abtei Muri line, which has been produced from selected grapes from the very best sites since 1989. The MURI-GRIES wine estate comprises 35 hectares of vineyards in excellent locations in and around Bolzano and Appiano. The monastery vineyards offer an outstanding terroir, combining excellent soils with a highly favourable climate.
