Description: Golden yellow. Noble fragrance with notes of beeswax, almond, chestnut honey, bergamot, pear and black tea with a floral background of lime and alfalfa. The taste is full and soft, warm and enveloping, with great persistence.
A symphony called Kaplja (Slovenian translation: drop), consisting of three artists: Chardonnay, Friulano, Malvasia. Each of them gives the wine its own characteristics, making it balanced and harmonious on the nose and in the mouth. The distinct beginning with the aromatic nose of the Friulano gives the aromatic continuity in the mouth of the Malvasia, which expands and leaves a long, soft and spicy finish of the Chardonnay.
Grape variety: Chardonnay, Malvasia, Friulano - Venezia Giulia IGT.
Production area: Vineyards on Ponka soils (Opoka marl/Arenaria) at 110-140 m altitude with southern exposure from the vineyards of Monte Calvario (2003), Gradisciutta (1991), Piedimonte (2008), San Floriano (1993).
Vinification: Fermentation takes place in the presence of the skins in conical oak barrels for 60 to 90 days. After maceration, the wine is aged in 20 or 30 hl barrels for 36 months and refined in bottles for 12 months. The wine's own sediment in the bottle preserves and protects it.
Food pairing: Pairs well with steamed fish, seafood risotto, steamed fish and shellfish, eggs and savoury pies, smoked fish, roasted and grilled meats, fish starters and grilled fish.
Serving temperature: 14 - 16°C.
Ageing potential: more than 10 years.
