Description

Description:
Fine ruby red in the glass. The complex fruity bouquet is reminiscent of raspberries, pickled sour cherry and cranberry fruit. Delicate and well-structured, this straightforward and independent Pinot Noir convinces on the palate with present, natural tannins and a surprising freshness and fruit sweetness. Salty, long-lasting and elegant on the finish. A Pinot Noir with a strong expression.

Grape variety:
Pinot Noir - Alto Adige IGT Weinberg Dolomiten.

Production area:
On the Eppan Berg below the Mendelgebirge lies our highest vineyard site at about 600 m above sea level. Here, the geological break between deep porphyry subsoil with clayey sediments and gravel, lime and loamy alluvial soils interspersed with shell limestone runs. The slopes are well ventilated, sun-drenched and allow the grapes to ripen optimally. The wines produced here are characterised by elegance, freshness and fruitiness.

Vinification:
Early selected hand harvest. Then the grapes are destemmed and transported via a chute into a 20 hl. fermentation vat. fermentation vat. After several days of pre-fermentation, fermentation takes place spontaneously with whole berries thanks to natural yeasts. After about three weeks of maceration with careful manual punching down, the wine is gently pressed and clarified by natural sedimentation. The ageing takes place for about 15 months in new and used 500 lt. oak barrels.

Food pairing:
A versatile food companion for special moments, ideal with roasted and grilled red meat, game and matured cheese.

Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C. In order to develop its full potential, the wine needs time to breathe.

Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.

Bottle to:
750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.

Allergens:
Wine can contain sulphites.

Abraham Winery
The family business Winery Abraham in St. Michael / Eppan was founded by Martin Abraham and Marlies Pohl Abraham with the aim of processing their own grapes into high-quality wines. Martin and Marlies Abraham are winemakers by conviction. They live their passion. They use the knowledge and creative power of their ancestors as the foundation of their actions today. Now it is their turn to carry this deep-rooted passion forward. THE FUTURE NEEDS A GENUINE. Working with nature means compromising. Again and again new areas of tension arise between acting and letting go. This tightrope walk is a daily challenge. When you inhale the scent of rain-soaked earth, you will become aware of the uniqueness and diversity of this terroir. In the west of the vineyards we find dolomite rock, limestone marl, red clay and sand from the debris cone of the Mendel Mountains. In the east, moraine soils from the last ice age are predominant, mixed with volcanic rock made of quartz porphyry with a very high mineral content.
