Description: Intense ruby red. On the nose, this red wine shows a great variety of dark, ripe red fruits. On the palate, a balanced and very filigree structure. The finish is very fruity with light spicy notes. The finish is very long.
Production area: Valle di Marcellise, situated at the foot of the hills at 100 m above sea level. The vineyards develop on gentle hillsides in a north-south direction. Soil composition: calcareous soil with the presence of clay and stones; organic fertilisation is carried out every four years with the addition of microelements as required.
Vinification: Produced according to the Amarone process, but Calto cannot be called Amarone due to the designation of origin (grape varieties used).
Food pairing: Excellent with braised meats and game.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential: more than 10 years.

The corporate philosophy of the winery includes the balance between nature and people. The vineyards - mostly raised in the Guyot system - are home to the classic Valpolicella grape varieties, including Rondinella, Corvina and Croatina. In recent years, however, Cabernet Sauvignon and Teroldego have also been planted.
