Description: Purple red, intense and complex bouquet of wild strawberries and cherries, floral and spicy. Full-bodied in the mouth, fresh acidity, pleasant both in the early years and with ageing.
Grape variety: Barbera - Barbera D'Alba DOC.
Production area: Located in Barbaresco, which has always been considered one of the best areas for the production of Nebbiolo da Barbaresco, it covers a total of 13 hectares, 8 of which are vineyards. The name Roncaglie derives from the Latin "Roncaleis" (former Roman settlement, meaning "road uphill"). The vineyard is planted with Nebbiolo da Barbaresco (cru Roncaglie) and Barbera, with a small vineyard of Rhine Riesling. Altitude between 240 and 280 m a.s.l., predominantly south and south-west exposure.
Vinification: Hand harvest, destemming, crushing, maceration with the skins for 10 - 12 days at a maximum temperature of 28° - 30°C, complete malolactic fermentation before winter. Maturation in oak barrels for about one year.
Food pairing: Wine for the whole meal, goes well with pasta, soups and casseroles; ideal in the kitchen for preparing sauces and meat stews.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential: more than 8 years.
Bottle size: 750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.
