Description:
Deep garnet red, lush and complex aromas of blackberries, spices, undergrowth, rose hips and violets. A "classic" Barbaresco with the elegance of Cru Roncaglie: rich, enveloping and intense on the palate. Personality and grace with a very long finish with velvety tannins and great ageing potential.

Production area:
The Roncaglie winery is located in Barbaresco, which has always been considered one of the best areas for growing Nebbiolo da Barbaresco, and covers a total of 13 hectares, 8 of which are vineyards.
The name Roncaglie derives from the Latin "Roncaleis" (former Roman settlement, meaning "road uphill"). The vineyard is planted with Nebbiolo da Barbaresco (cru Roncaglie) and Barbera, with a small vineyard of Rhine Riesling. Altitude between 240 and 280 m a.s.l., with predominantly southern and south-western exposure.
Vinification:
Hand harvest, destemming, pressing, maceration with the skins for 12 - 15 days at a maximum temperature of about 30°, complete malolactic fermentation before winter. Transfer to Slavonian oak barrels in spring for a period of 12 - 14 months.
Food pairing:
A great wine for the whole meal, it goes best with red meat and feathered game.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.
