Description:
Light, fresh red wine of ruby red color. The wine gets pleasant notes of cherries through the aging on the fine lees. It is filigree in the mouth, finely spicy with peppery notes. Its uncomplicated manner makes it a pleasant drinking wine. Suitable for summer.

Vernatsch/Schiava - South Tyrol Alto Adige DOC
Production area:
Neumarkt/Egna - South Tyrolean Unterland. The grapes for this wine grow in the countryside near the winery at an altitude of 220 m a.s.l. The vineyard called Glassier with soils made up of a mixture of sandstone, porphyry and limestone marl extends at the foot of the Nature Park "Trudner Horn/Monte Corno" and the Nature 2000 area Castelfeder.
Vinification:
The fermentation of the must takes place in open steel barrels at a controlled temperature. Half of the must ferments spontaneously, ie without the addition of yeasts. The must is not pressed. The wine then matures on the second lees until Christmas.
Food Pairing:
It is an excellent accompaniment to salads and cold cuts.
Serving temperature:
14 - 16°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 3 years.

The term Glassier« from the Latin enclosure« indicated properties which, like the Glassierhof, were bounded by a circular wall. The farm, known for being built in 1663, has been in the family for nine generations. Its primary objective is the quality of the wines. Quality can only be achieved if all wine production processes, from cultivation to bottling, are carefully observed. That is why this farm is managed according to organic guidelines. True quality begins in the vineyard. This work and tradition will continue in the future and the range of wines, consisting of Lagrein, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Schiava, Sauvignon and a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, will continue to be elaborated to the best of our knowledge and in harmony with nature.
