Description:
Full-bodied red wine with an intense dark red color with purple reflections. In the nose there are notes of violets and bitter chocolate. It is strong on the palate with fine and balanced tannins and well structured in minerality and alcohol. Long lasting finish.

Lagrein - South Tyrol Alto Adige DOC.
Production area:
Neumarkt/Egna - South Tyrolean Unterland. The grapes for this wine grow in the countryside near the winery at an altitude of 220 m a.s.l. The vineyard called Glassier with soils made up of a mixture of sandstone, porphyry and limestone marl extends at the foot of the Nature Park "Trudner Horn/Monte Corno" and the Nature 2000 area Castelfeder.
Vinification:
Harvest towards the end of September. The must is fermented at a controlled temperature in steel barrels. Malolactic fermentation and maturation for 12 months in large wooden barrels. After bottling, the wine ages for at least another 12 months before being put on sale.
Food Pairing:
It goes well with red meat and game, as well as aged cheese.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.

The term Glassier« from the Latin enclosure« indicated properties which, like the Glassierhof, were bounded by a circular wall. The farm, known for being built in 1663, has been in the family for nine generations. Its primary objective is the quality of the wines. Quality can only be achieved if all wine production processes, from cultivation to bottling, are carefully observed. That is why this farm is managed according to organic guidelines. True quality begins in the vineyard. This work and tradition will continue in the future and the range of wines, consisting of Lagrein, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Schiava, Sauvignon and a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, will continue to be elaborated to the best of our knowledge and in harmony with nature.
