Taschlerhof Winery
Since the early 1990s Peter Wachtler has been working the vineyards around his farm south of Bressanone. An ideal location for the cultivated white varieties: the climatic conditions are favorable at 530 meters above sea level. In the vineyards there are selected clones and rootstocks, grown according to the Guyot system. The south-east orientation of the slopes guarantees intense sunlight and the thin slate floors leave their particularly characteristic mineral taste. The recently expanded winery development to include Kerner and Riesling is more than just a professional challenge for Wachtler. As a freelance winemaker, he works independently and according to his own philosophy. It reduces the quantities of cultivation and therefore increases the quality of the wine.
