Description:
This special wine comes from our oldest vineyards and was produced in the outstanding 2019 vintage in honor of my grandfather. As a pioneer, Sepp Hanni has undoubtedly made a significant contribution to the current reputation of Pinot Noir, not only at Stroblhof, but throughout the Überetsch region. We would like to honor his pioneering work and his legacy with this wine.
Grape varierty:
Pinot Noir - Alto Adige DOC Reserve
Production area:
The grapes come from the STROBLHOF vineyard, located at 500 metres above sea level in the municipality of Eppan, in the hamlet of Pigeno. The plot is south-east facing.
Vinification:
Maceration and fermentation in a 30 litre oak vat lasted 23 days, with the first week being racked three times a day. Matured for twelve months in partly new and partly 1-year-old French oak barrels. Then aged for 5 months in steel tanks and two years in the bottle.
Food pairing:
It is an excellent accompaniment to strong meat dishes, game and spicy cheese. The more intense the wine, the more complex the dishes can be.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.
Bottle size:
750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.
Allergens:
wine can contain sulphites.
Producer:
Stroblhof Winery
We continue to work hard at this farm – both in the vineyards and the cellars – with the single minded scope of producing top quality wine. The low and select production allows us to guarantee the high quality of the wines. In fact, from 5.5 hectares, we only produce a maximum of 40,000 bottles, half of which is white, the other red. The altitude of 500 meters above sea level is an additional advantage to producing wines of unique character, good acidity, and with a good aging potential.
