Description:
Straw yellow colour with greenish highlights, lasting apple and banana aromas, complex, juicy and persistent structure. Pleasant fullness, well-integrated acid structure, harmonious and fresh elegance.
"Doss' refers to the hump on which Cortina s. Strada d. Vino is located. In the past, the small wine village was often under water, which is why it was called 'Little Venice'. Today, the small rise is the most important area for the cultivation of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. In contrast to the rest of the area, the Bassa Atesina has been almost exclusively cultivated with vines.

Selected vineyards in the Bassa Atesina. Deep, heavy soils (loamy and clayey) with several parts of sand.
Vinification:
Manual harvest, soft pressing, alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, ageing on the lees for 6 months.
Food pairing:
Aperitifs, light first courses, spicy meals.
Serving temperature:
10 - 12°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 5 years.

The Castelfeder Estate Winery was founded in Egna more than 50 years ago by Alfons Giovanett, but since that time, hardly anything has remained the same. “The product line has been expanded, production has increased, the processes in the winery have been modernized, and the market has become more international,” says Günther Giovanett, who took over the estate from his father Alfons and runs it with his children Ivan and Ines. Today, the Castelfeder Estate Winery encompasses 65 hectares, on which 70 percent is planted with white wine varieties.“The focus is on Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc,” Giovanett explains. With the red wines, the concentration is on Pinot Noir.
