Description:
Intense straw yellow with subtle greenish reflections. Fruity aromas of apricot, mandarin and passion fruit mingle with aromatic notes of elderflower, gooseberry and mint. The fruity impression persists on the palate, accompanied by a delicate acidity. Its good structure and mineral finish, rich in aromas, are particularly convincing.
Grape variety:
Sauvignon 100% - Alto Adige DOC.
Production area:
Karneid at 380 m above sea level. Deep, sandy, porphyritic, altered soil.
Vinification:
Gentle pressing and clarification of the must through natural sedimentation of the cloudy substances, slow fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Ageing and maturation for 5-6 months on fine lees, partly in stainless steel tanks (80%) and partly in used tonneaux (20%).
Matching:
It pairs perfectly with white and green asparagus, tuna carpaccio, smoked salmon, nettle gnocchi, but also steamed trout with vegetables or fresh goat's cheese.
Serving temperature:
8 - 10°C.

more than 5 years.

The brothers Markus and Thomas Puff are responsible for the wine production at the impressively 700 year-old Pitznerhof in Cardano at the entrance to the Valle Isarco. Their farmhouse lies at an elevation of precisely 350 meters, but the three hectares of grape growing areas are on steep slopes with deep, sandy weathered porphyry soils. “We attempt to integrate the local conditions and the microclimate into the production process in the best possible way". And in the winery, there is also the underlying principle of working with the grapes gently. Thus the overall picture comes together of production that is close to nature along the entire chain. “We try to fulfill our responsibility by stressing nature as little as possible".
