Description: 
Brilliant ruby red. 

Grape variety: 
Pinot Noir - Südtirol - Alto Adige DOC 

Production area: 
The grapes come exclusively from selected vineyards in the area of Appiano Monte and "Rungg". Gravelly calcareous soils with clay content. 

Vinification: 
5-day cold maceration (skin contact), followed by fermentation in steel vats. Maturation for 12 months in barriques/tonneaux, then a final period in 12hl barrels before bottling. 

Food pairing: 
Lamb, kid and mature cheeses. 

Serving temperature: 
14 - 16°C. 

Ageing potential: 
more than 10 years.

In particular, the vineyards in and around Appiano offer the ideal conditions for varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Yellow Muscat, and Pinot Noir. 
But for well-structures red wines, outstanding small vineyards are found at lower elevations and along the Wine Route. The mild and sunny climate forms the basis for the unique quality of the wines.
