Powerful ruby red colour. Fine characteristic Pinot bouquet with a clearly fruity character and a trace of spicey and smokey aromas. This wine is powerful and expressive on the palate with a pleasant tannic background.

Production area:
Selected vineyards with southeast exposure located in the midhill slopes of Montagna (400m) and Gleno, one of the most promising areas for Pinot Noir in Italy.
Vinification:
The grapes are destemmed and fermented at a constant temperature of 26 - 28°C for about 10 days in stainless steel tanks. During fermentation the must is kept in contact with the skins through circulation pumping. In this way, we achieve deal results with the colouring from the skins and emphasize the fruitiness of the wine. After two gentle rackings the wine goes into barrique barrels for 10 months.
Matching:
A noble wine for moderately complicated dishes.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.

more than 5 years.

The Castelfeder Estate Winery was founded in Egna more than 50 years ago by Alfons Giovanett, but since that time, hardly anything has remained the same. “The product line has been expanded, production has increased, the processes in the winery have been modernized, and the market has become more international,” says Günther Giovanett, who took over the estate from his father Alfons and runs it with his children Ivan and Ines. Today, the Castelfeder Estate Winery encompasses 65 hectares, on which 70 percent is planted with white wine varieties.“The focus is on Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc,” Giovanett explains. With the red wines, the concentration is on Pinot Noir.
