Description: 
Intense garnet red colour with violet hues. On the palate intense berry nuances in a beautiful combination with delicate violet notes, supported by a subtle scent of leather to a perception of a refreshing eucalyptus. 

A velvety soft tannin caresses the palate. There is a slight roasted flavour with decent pepper notes accompanying the drink. Fresh acidity supports the fruity flavour that is noticeable on the palate. 

Grape variety: 
Lagrein - Alto Adige DOC 

Production area: 
Bolzano Rencio, Bolzano Gries, 270 - 290m above sea level, deep, sandy, well-ventilated alluvial soil. 

Vinification: 
12 hours maceration followed by controlled fermentation on the marc for 10 to 12 days in stainless steel barrels. Malolactic fermentation with ageing 80% second and third passage) until March. 

Matching: 
this wine goes well with red meats, various game dishes and mountain cheeses. 

Serving temperature: 
14 - 16°C. 

Ageing potential: 
more than 10 years. 

Bottle to: 
750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.

The brothers Markus and Thomas Puff are responsible for the wine production at the impressively 700 year-old Pitznerhof in Cardano at the entrance to the Valle Isarco. Their farmhouse lies at an elevation of precisely 350 meters, but the three hectares of grape growing areas are on steep slopes with deep, sandy weathered porphyry soils. “We attempt to integrate the local conditions and the microclimate into the production process in the best possible way". And in the winery, there is also the underlying principle of working with the grapes gently. Thus the overall picture comes together of production that is close to nature along the entire chain. “We try to fulfill our responsibility by stressing nature as little as possible".
