Description

Description: 
Garnet red with violet reflections. Intense nose of bitter chocolate, sour cherries and wild berries. Velvety on the palate, pronounced structure, beautiful acidity and very persistent on the palate. Good ageing potential. 

Grape variety: 
Lagrein - South Tyrol DOC Riserva 

Production area: 
Andrian at 250m a.s.l. Light to moderately heavy permeable alluvial soils. 

Vinification: 
Maceration in stainless steel vats; controlled fermentation with gentle maceration; malolactic fermentation and maturation in barrique barrels. 

Food pairing: 
Goes well with mature cheeses, bacon and sausages, game and wild fowl, braised meats and dark meat dishes. 

Serving temperature: 
16 - 18°C. 

Ageing potential: 
more than 10 years.

"Tradition in motion" - Steeped in time-honored traditions, and dedicated to finding new ways to preserve these traditions for the future - this is the motto of Cantina Andriano, founded in 1893, and the oldest cooperative in Alto Adige. The vineyards are unique to the area, because they are protected to the west by Mount Gantkofel, which is made of calcareous stone. They cover an area of 200° from south-south-east to east at an altitude between 260-340 metres above sea level. For centuries, with passion and dedication, winemakers have captured the character of Andriano's distinctive terroir. Andriano's cooler climatic conditions produce wines with crisp acidity, unique complexity, freshness and elegance. 

The Andrian Winery, founded in 1893, is the oldest winegrowers' cooperative in the whole of South Tyrol. Since 2008, it has been part of the management of the Terlan Winery.
