Description:
Intense ruby red colour. Complex and varietal bouquet on the nose with pleasant aromas of laurel and eucalyptus, blackberry, mulberry and bitter orange, with a light toasted note on the finish. Full and spicy taste, persistent and elegant, finely structured.
Grape variety:
Sangiovese - Rosso di Montalcino Toscana DOC.
Production area:
Montalcino at about 600 metres above sea level, in the Lago, Fonte and Cappuccini vineyards. The altitude gives the wines produced here an aromatic profile of great elegance, less muscular and more delicate than Montalcino.
Vinification:
Spontaneous fermentation with own yeasts in cement tanks, manual pumping over. Maturation for 13 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
Food pairing:
Pair with risotto, game, braised red meats, roasted and grilled meats, mature cheeses.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.

The Ragnaie vines have an age ranging from 5 to 40 years and are planted on land in the central area of the area, facing south-west, towards the sea. The vineyards have an altitude that varies between 530 and 600 meters which, forcing us to harvest in the second half of October, give us wines of exceptional elegance and aroma. The vineyards are surrounded by woods, olive groves and our small lake: ideal habitat for local fauna.
