Description

Description: 
It is the simplest wine from Montevertine and is suitable for all occasions. It is made from Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes from all different vineyards and is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for a year.

Production area: 
Montevertine is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico in the municipality of Radda in Chianti at an altitude of 425 meters. The Pian del Ciampolo vineyard was planted in 2003, has an area of ​​1.5 hectares and is oriented W-NW. 

Vinification: 
Fermentation in concrete barrels for about 25 days. The malolactic fermentation also takes place in concrete barrels. This is followed by 12 months of storage in Slavonian oak barrels and 3 months of bottle aging.

Sausages, starters, grilled meat. 

Serving temperature: 
17 - 18°C.

over 10 years.

Only the traditional varieties of the Chianti area are grown in the vineyards of Montevertine: Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. The vinification method is extremely traditional and has always been the same since the first harvest. The hand-picked grapes are fermented in glass-enclosed concrete tanks without temperature control and circulated twice a day to keep the pomace cap moist and to obtain a slow extraction of tannins from the skins. After bottling, the wine always carries out malolactic fermentation in glass-enclosed concrete tanks. At the end of the malolactic fermentation, the wines mature in wooden barrels for about two years. Slavonian and Allier oak barrels with a capacity of 5.5 to 18 hectoliters and 225 liter Allier barrique barrels are used for expansion. The wines are not filtered and bottling is only done by gravity.
