Description: The vintage St.Magdalener Schloterpöck is one of the most traditional wines of our region. With its fruity taste, this wine reveals all the sublimities that characterize its area of origin. Because we meticulously maintain the vineyards manually, the crop yield is reduced to around 9,500 kg/hectare, but the grapes are of highest quality. This wine matures for 6 months in the large wooden barrel. Color: shiny and dense ruby red. Nose: fruity and flowery, cherry aroma. Harmonious, full-bodied and round, mellow finish. The name it carries today goes back to the proprietor Josef Anton Schloterpöck, who in 1777 became known as “Kandler”.

Producer: Kandlerhof Winery The ancient vineyard estate Kandlerhof was mentioned in a document for the first time in the year 1278, and is property of the family Spornberger since 1793. The vineyards at the foot of Ritten/Renon, at the north-eastern part of Bozen/Bolzano, and the mild climate form best conditions for the classic red wine St. Magdalener. Here the experienced wine grower Martin Spornberger combines "typicity and quality with tradition". Thus, the wines from Kandlerhof are aromatic and fruity and their ample bouquet can unfold thanks to the combination of different vineyard sites. Martin Spornberger produces classic St. Magdalener, Lagrein Dunkel and Sauvignon Blanc on a vineyard area of 2 hectares. The refining of the wine in large wooden barrels expresses terroir and grape variety in an elegant and velvety way. The wines are genuine and ready to enjoy after a short time of storage in bottles.
