Color: Light ruby red. Aroma: Red cherries; floral notes of violets and rose petals; typical scent of marzipan and bitter almonds. Flavor: Mouth-filling and smooth.
This South Tyrolean classic takes ist name from the Santa Maddalena hill north of Bolzano. Schiava and Lagrein grow together in the vineyard and give birth to a more powerful than a single varietal Schiava could be. That is why they call it the ''Queen of Schiava''.

Schiava and Lagrein. Cultivating area: Light morainal soils of Santa Maddalena, Santa Giustina and Coste; from 200 to 500 m a.s.l. (650 - 1640 ft).
Vinification:
Schiava and Lagrein are harvested and fermented together; a part of the wine matures in big oak barrels.
Food pairing:
Perfect for pairing with local South Tyrolean cuisine, hearty appetisers or an exquisite cheese plate.
Serving temperature:
15 - 17°C (59 - 63°F).
Ageing potential:
more than 5 years.
