Description:
The weathered granite soil gives this wine elegance, richness and minerality. On the nose, this wine presents subtle spicy notes and on the palate it appears multilayered with a soft, velvety tannin and a remarkable length on the finish.

Production area:
Our vineyards are located above the village of Mamoiada at about 755 metres above sea level. The total area of the vineyards is about two hectares.
Vinification:
Fermentation in steel, ageing in French oak for 12 months.
Food Pairing:
Excellent with legume-based soups, red meats, aged cheeses and spicy cold cuts. Perfect with the typical Sardinian roast suckling pig or barbecued sausage.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
min. 10 years.

Jankara was founded in 2006, the year Renato and Angela Spanu acquired 8 hectares of pristine land in the prestigious "Vena di San Leonardo" in the hills of Alta Gallura. In 2008, they planted the first 4 hectares exclusively with Vermentino grapes. In 2013, they were joined by Angelo and Denise Elia, two long-time friends, owners of the renowned restaurant "Casa D'Angelo" in Florida. A collaboration that brings Jankara to a new, ambitious level. A deep passion for Sardinia, and in particular for its Gallura region, has led Renato and his wife Angela to realise their dream of producing a wine of excellent quality and making the beauty and richness of the mountains and granite soil of Gallura known throughout the world.
After many sacrifices and hard work, Renato and Angela, with the help of their new partners Angelo and Denise, have created "Jankara", a true expression of their love for wine and the ancient region of Gallura.
