Description:
Perfectly integrated spicy oak, flavours of black cherry, pie crust and orange peel. Full-bodied with ultra-fine, powdery tannins. Fruity yet savoury on the palate, lively and endless. A light and animating mouthfeel.
Grape varierty:
100% Sangiovese - DOCG Brunello di Montalcino
Production area:
Ramerino, Aromatica, Levante, Rosa dei Venti, Anemone and Macchiese at 450 - 500 metres. The soil consists of galestro, limestone and slate.
Vinification:
After fermentation, the wine is aged for 36 months in large barrels. Subsequently, 50% of the wine matures for 12 months in used wooden barrels of 1500 litres and 50% in steel tanks of 1500 litres. Finally, 100% of the wine is aged for 2 months in steel tanks.
Food Pairing:
An ideal accompaniment to game dishes, the classic ‘Bistecca alla Fiorentina’ and dark meat; also excellent with mature cheese and cured ham.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
over 15 years.
