Production area:
Alluvial land of the river Isarco at the Piani di Bolzano. Yield depending on vintage approx. 45 hl per hectare = 5.200 bottles.
Vinification:
The Alto Adige Lagrein Riserva DOC of Nusserhof is an organic wine obtained from fermentation in steel, a maturation in wooden barrels of 20 hl for 30 months and a refinement in the bottle for a further 13 months, which makes it complex, from spicy notes and gently evolved.
Food pairing:
A red wine with structure, ideal with game, sauced meat dishes and aged cheeses.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.

Nusserhof Winery
The Nusserhof in the southeast of Bolzano is since 1788 demonstrably owned by the Mayr family. The warm, deep porphyry and dolomite deposits of the Eisack-River and the well ventilated location at the exit of the Eisacktal offer ideal conditions for the cultivation of fruit and wine. Since time immemorial, the indigenous grape varieties Lagrein and Blatterle have been cultivated here. In the 20th century, the Nusserhof suffered heavy fatalities. When Josef Mayr-Nusser refused the oath on Adolf Hitler, he paid for it with the life. After the war, the family fought for years for the preservation of their farm, which was to be expropriated and demolished as part of the city expansion. Finally, the court was placed in the mid-1980s in memory of Josef Mayr-Nusser under protection. Today, the Nusserhof is a green oasis in Bolzano, a sustainable organic farm that lives up to biodiversity and has become a meeting place for art, music and science. The range includes renowned wines, including white Blaterle, Lagrein Kretzer rosé, Lagrein Riserva, Tyroldego and Elda.
