Terlaner I Grande Cuvée Magnum Bottle 2018 - 14% vol. Terlano Winery
Grape varierty: 100% Pinot Bianco.
Bottle to: 0,75 lt.
Description:
Color: sparkling straw yellow. Nose: The multifaceted aroma of this wine derives from a combination of ripe fruit, including honeydew melon, white peach, pear and Golden Delicious apple, together with the aromas of quince jelly and dried fruit such as pear, orange and pineapple, on the one hand, and graphite notes and a hint of jasmine with a mineral touch on the other. Taste: The interplay of fruity aromatic and salty components is repeated on the palate, where the soft and creamy elements gain greater strength in a wine with a lingering, firmly minerally and spicy character on the aftertaste.
Grape variety:
Pinot Bianco - Terlano Alto Adige DOC Riserva
Production area:
Terlano is a wine-growing village located halfway between Alto Adige's main towns of Merano and Bolzano where the Adige flows through a wide valley in a south-easterly direction. The village and vineyards nestle against the red porphyry rock of Monte Tschöggl on the orographically left side of the valley. Sandy-stony, well-drained soils.
Vinification:
Manual harvest and selection of the grapes; gentle whole cluster pressing and clarification of the must by natural sedimentation; slow fermentation at a controlled temperature in big oak barrels (30 hl); malolactic fermentation and aging on the lees in traditional wooden barrels for 12 months.
Food pairing:
Ideal in combination with a spicy fish soup, mussels in a pepper sauce and spaghetti allo scoglio as well as mussels au gratin, grilled ink fish and poached char; also one of the few good combinations with artichokes alla romana; excellent with mature Pecorino, a mature Parmesan and mostarda, and Tête de Moine.
Serving temperature:
12 - 14°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 10 years.
Bottle to:
750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.
Allergens:
Wine can contain sulphites.

Terlano Winery
Terlano’s tradition as a wine terroir dates back over 2000 years. That vines thrive so well in the lee of Monzoccolo is due to the mild, almost Mediterranean climate with hot sunny days and cool nights during the ripening time. The striking red, easily warmed porphyry soil of Terlano also contributes to the high quality of the grapes. In the heart of this South Tyrolean wine region the Terlano winery was established in 1893. Today the co-operative has over 200 members and a total area of 240 hectares. 70% of the vineyard acreage is planted with white grapes. In modern cellars the fruits of this careful, natural cultivation are turned into wine with that perfect touch and the necessary controls.Because of the mineral content of the wines the region of Terlano is also frequently likened to French vine growing areas. The Terlano wine characteristics, the precise fruit, and the fine yet strong aroma lead experts to compare the wine with mature vintage Champagnes.
