Description

Description: 
Bright straw yellow, with golden reflections and a beautiful depth of colour. Clean notes of Abate pear and kiwi in the nose, with an intensely spicy undertone. Full-bodied on the palate, deep and flavourful with a beautiful persistent finish. 

Grape variety: 
Chardonnay - South Tyrol DOC Riserva 

Production area: 
The vineyards are situated in Magrè, around to the Baron Salvadori estate, on a gentle slope at an altitude of between 220 and 350 metres with a southern/south-eastern exposure. The white chalky gravel soils contain well-ventilated humus. 

Vinification: 
The grapes are harvested by hand. After the whole cluster pressing, the must is left to settle at a cooler temperature for 30 hours. Fermentation then takes places in small oak barrels. After malolactic fermentation, the young wine is aged on the fine lees for 12 months and then in the bottle for further two years. 

Food pairing: 
This Chardonnay harmonises with refined dishes of the upscale gastronomy, with strong starters, white meat and grilled fish dishes. 

Serving temperature: 
12 - 14°C. 

Ageing potential: 
more than 8 years.

1500 ml - 150 cl - 1,5 lt.

From a total of 370 acres of land, 140 winegrowers bring top quality grapes to the Nals Margreid Winery. Ecological awareness and a sense of quality influence their work and lead to the excellent harvests from which remarkable wines arise. The winegrowers’ vineyards of the Winery Nals Margreid extend from Nals, a little town between Bozen and Meran (Merano), all the way to Margreid in the sunny, southern reaches of the region, allowing to exploit a remarkable variety of terroirs and locations. Like the excellent wines produced by it, the winery, modernized in 2011, is an expression of the terroir. Thanks to the joining of historical structures and the high standards of modern wine production, a complex of buildings evolved, that perfectly expresses the qualities.
