Description:
The colour is an attractive deep garnet red, fruity bouquet with a complex aroma of cherries and blackberries with nuances of liquorice and chocolate. The flavour is elegant and full-bodied, with a harmonious and persistent finish.

Production area:
Freiberg above Merano on 330 m. Light, permeable soil of morainic origin.
Vinification:
Fermentation takes place in contact with the skins for approx. 10 - 15 days; followed by organic malolactic fermentation; passage in barriques and oak barrels for 16 months.
Food pairing:
Ideal with game in general, classic meat recipes and hard cheeses.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 8 years.

The Winery Merano Burggräfler arose from the merger of two traditional wineries: the Winery Merano and the Winery Burggräfler. A total of 370 members, small and micro producers, cultivate about 250 hectares of the best vineyards in Merano and the surrounding areas Lagundo, Tirolo, Caines, Rifiano, Scena, Marlengo, Cermes, Lana and the Val Venosta Valley. Thanks to their combined strenght the winegrowing in the western part of South Tyrol obtains a new and interesting profile.
