Description: Intense dark ruby red colour, it has typical aromas of berries, vanilla and coffee, velvety tannins, and good persistence.
Grape variety: 70% Merlot, 30% Lagrein - South Tyrol DOC
Production area: Merano, Lagundo on 300 - 400 m. Soil: Light, permeable soil of morainic origin.
Vinification: Temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation takes place in a wide-entrance vat where the must is stirred for approx. 10 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in used barriques or small oak barrels.
Food pairing: Ideal with game, classic meat recipes and hard cheeses.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential: more than 5 years.
Bottle size: 750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.
Allergens: wine can contain sulphites.
Producer: Merano Burggraefler Winery The Winery Merano Burggräfler arose from the merger of two traditional wineries: the Winery Merano and the Winery Burggräfler. A total of 370 members, small and micro producers, cultivate about 250 hectares of the best vineyards in Merano and the surrounding areas Lagundo, Tirolo, Caines, Rifiano, Scena, Marlengo, Cermes, Lana and the Val Venosta Valley. Thanks to their combined strenght the winegrowing in the western part of South Tyrol obtains a new and interesting profile.
