Description: 
Deep and impenetrable ruby red in colour, the nose releases notes of ripe blackberries, cassis, rose, sour cherry jam against a background of cinnamon and other sweet spices, with a slight hint of red pepper. Soft and silky on the palate, with hints of red fruit and spicy notes, it is the perfect wine to accompany game.

Case Via and Pecille vineyards with southern exposure 

Vinification: 
Spontaneous fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks with plungers and thermal control for at least 3 weeks. Maturation In Troncais and Allier barriques for 12 months.

Cannelloni, Cold meats and salami, Spicy cheeses, Medium matured cheeses, Matured cheeses, Baked pork knuckle, Roast meat, Risottos, Pasta all'amatriciana. 

Serving temperature: 
16 - 18°C.

Fontodi is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, more precisely in the valley that opens up south of the village of Panzano known as the "Conca d'oro". This is a terroir that has been renowned for centuries for its vocation for quality viticulture due to the unique combination of high altitude, marl soils, great luminosity and a fantastic microclimate that is warm, dry and with a wide temperature range. 

Since 1968, Fontodi has belonged to the Manetti family, which for centuries has been dedicated to another typically Chiantian activity: the production of the famous terracotta. Precisely in the name of this strong bond with the territory and with a great passion for quality, the company has successfully turned towards an ever more careful cultivation of the vineyards and a deeper knowledge of the potential of Sangiovese in the Panzano area.
