Description:
Color: Intense garnet red. Aroma: Fully ripe black cherries, floral notes of roses and violets. Luxurious hints of coca and fondant chocolate. Flavor: Powerful and harmoniously balanced; seducing and lingering smoothness; great tannin structure. Lagrein is a typical South Tyrolean variety, which thrives on the plains of the Bolzano valley, and its surroundings, benefitting from the strong temperature differences between day and night. Only old vines are able to yield a wine of extraordinary quality. With concentrated, yet smooth tannin, luscious fruit and a powerful body.

Production area:
Picked from more than 80 year-old vines that grow on sandy porphyry soils of Bolzano.
Vinification:
Fermentation on the skins and further maturation for at least 12 months in new, one and two year-old barriques made of French oak.
Food pairing:
Dark meat and wild game dishes, such as venison and beef.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 10 years .
