Description:
The Turmhof Pinot Noir is ruby-red in color with a garnet-red glow and a subtle bouquet of blackberries, raspberries and cherries. It has a youthful strength and pedigree, is soft and full-bodied while being balanced and elegant on the palate.

Production area:
Hillside vineyards in Corona near Cortaccia (800 - 850 m a.s.l.), in Pinzano/Mazzon (450 - 550 m a.s.l. ) and in Aica di Fiè (750 - 980 m a.s.l.).
Vinification:
Fermentation on the skins in concrete vats is followed by malolactic fermentation and aging for ten months at 80% in barrique and at 20% in large oak. After blending, the assemblage spends another two more months in concrete vats. Finally, the wine is allowed to mature additional five months in the bottle.

Rabbit, lamb, game, game birds, hard cheese.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.

The Tiefenbrunner family is fully committed to the wine-growing tradition since 1848. Today Christof and his wife Sabine stand behind the name Castel Turmhof winery. Their aim is to blend the traditions of many years with new and innovative developments. Thus, the preservation of the character of the grape varieties, and of the high quality of the grapes themselves, remain the basic principle of the work in the vineyards and the cellars. Altogether 25 hectares of vines are owned and cultivated by the Tiefenbrunner family. They also purchase grapes from surrounding vineyards with a total cultivated area of 40 hectares. The average annual production is 750,000 bottles, of which 70% are white wines and the remainder red.
