Description: The wine has an intense garnet red colour, with a dense core and traces of slight lightening on the edges. A pronounced intensity of dark fruit aromas (ripe cherry, plum, blackberry), chocolate, accompanied by light tobacco, clove and slightly earthy notes. The wine is dry, the tannins are velvety, and the body is powerful. The palate is intense and complex (blackcurrant, blackberry, dark cherry, coffee), while the finish is long and persistent. Very pleasant to drink.
Grape varierty: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - South Tyrol DOC.
Production area: South Tyrol Bassa Atesina at 320 - 350 m a.s.l. Soil quality: medium light alluvial soil on red porphyry.
Vinification: After careful sorting of the grapes each variety is loaded into its own stainless steel barrel and allowed to ferment. Maturation in wooden barrels (barrique - Tonneau) for 18 months. Bottle-ageing for another 18 months.
Food pairing: An excellent wine with grilled red meat, game, hearty specialities and mature cheese.
Serving temperature: 16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential: more than 8 years.
