Description:
Mezzanotte presents itself on the nose with a distinctive trait of red fruits with a touch of black pepper. On the palate there is ripe fruit followed by a nice component of tannins on the finish.

Production area:
This wine is made with grapes from both its own saplings over 40 years old and the new vines planted in 2005. This young vineyard was planted using scions taken from the Old Vines and La Signora saplings. It is located near the primitivo saplings, in Manduria about 3 km from the Ionian Sea, on typical red soil on limestone substrate.
Vinification:
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates and destemmed directly into small open fermenters where repeated manual punching down will be carried out. After pressing in the traditional vertical hydraulic press, the wine passes into old tonneaux and after several rackings is bottled without filtration.
Food pairing:
Perfect with risottos, pasta with meat sauce, white meat, red meat stews, roast and grilled meat.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.

more than years.

Since its foundation in 2000, the Apulian Morella winery has distinguished itself for its spontaneously artisanal production vision aimed at enhancing the territory of Manduria with its main grape variety: Primitivo. Key figures of the estate are Gaetano Morella and Lisa Gilbee, an Australian-born oenologist who came to Italy in 1992 and, after a series of work experiences around the country, decided to settle in Apulia, fascinated by the Primitivo saplings emerging from the red soil of Manduria. Gaetano and Lisa started this collaboration with the common aim of seeing Primitivo and the Manduria area get the recognition they deserve.
