Description:
A very complex and multi-layered wine. Flavours of cassis, tobacco and dark chocolate. Great development potential.
Grape varierty:
Lagrein - Alto Adige DOC - indigenous South Tyrolean grape variety.
Production area:
Porphyritic alluvial soils, clayey sand, very deep with a very high water retention potential. Single vineyard.
Vinification:
Hand-picked, 3 vintages, spontaneous maceration with 30% stems in open tonneaux for approx. 6 weeks. Matured for 24 months in barriques and 12 months in the bottle.
Food pairing:
With braised or roasted beef and ripened cheese.
Serving temperature:
14 - 16°C.
Ageing potential:
5 - 8 years.

Luis owes his enthusiasm for viticulture to his godfather Heinrich. At a young age, he was allowed to help him work in the vineyards in Santa Maddalena (Bolzano) and thus gain his first experiences in viticulture and wine production. At the age of 13, Luis made his first wine under the guidance of his godfather. A passion for grapes and accompanying it into wine was born and it was clear which direction his education would take.
