Description:
Schwarzenstein is a bottom-fermented, light beer modelled on the German Schwarzbier from Thuringia. The dark colour should not put you off, as it is a beer with a light body and therefore very drinkable. Both on the nose and in the mouth there are roasted flavours reminiscent of chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and biscuit. The finish is very balanced with a hint of bitterness.
Food pairing:
Excellent to drink in company and combined with smoked sausages and typical South Tyrolean dishes such as pork knuckle.

Monpiër de Gherdëina craft brewery
Monpiër - from 'mo n pier', the typical Ladin phrase pronounced by those who want 'another beer' - is the name of Val Gardena's first craft brewery.
Founded in Ortisei in 2016, it was born from the desire to get involved of Carmelo, Diego, Jan and Tobia: four people from Val Gardena who have found a common denominator in beer. The Monpiër beers are named after the surrounding mountains and their respective heights, and are a dedication and hymn to the rock-like beauty of the Dolomites.
