Description: 
Pinot Bianco has compact bunches of small greenish grapes. It is the most white grape variety grown in Cornaiano. Thanks to its delicate, fresh and at the same time, full flavour, the Pinot Bianco Plattenriegl is the perfect wine for a host of different occasions. It is an ideal accompaniment for hors d’oeuvres and fish dishes as well as being very popular as an aperitif.

Production area: 
For this wine we choose the best Pinot Bianco grapes from the hillside of the Oltradige at an altitude from 450 to 550 m above sea level, in well aired vineyards. The different combination of soils, from clay to lime and gravel is what gives this wine its unique character. 

Vinification: 
The grapes are picked by hand and placed in small containers to prevent excess pressure on the grapes. Gentle whole cluster pressing and clarification of the must by natural sedimentation. 75% is fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, 25% is fermented in large oak barrels (50 hl.). The part in oak barrels is continued with malolactic fermentation. Aging on the lees for 6 months. 

Ageing potential: 
more than 3 years. 

Serving temperature: 
10 - 12°C.

1500 ml - 150 cl - 1,5 lt.

The Cantina Girlan was founded in 1923 in an ancient farmstead from the XVI century. Back then 23 winegrowers laid the foundation stones of what was later to become the winery we see today. The walls, steeped in ancient tradition, and the labyrinthine corridors of the cellar harbour the secrets of state-of-the-art winemaking technology and hold the ideal conditions for ageing our wines. In 2010, work was started to modernize the cellar and bring it into line with modern technical standards. 
Today, about 200 greatly committed and motivated winegrowers and their families farm an area covering about 220 hectares of vineyards in the best production areas of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. Our enologist, Gerhard Kofler, keeps in close personal contact with the winegrowers and provides his professional advice during the growing season. This beneficial exchange of expertise sets the foundations for producing highest quality wines. 
Our tenets 
We pursue the following main objectives: we seek, on one hand, to showcase and promote the historic local grape varieties and on the other, to create impressive characterful wines using international grape varieties yet keeping them closely connected to the land. This is all achieved while respecting nature's flow and rhythms.
