Description: Full, strong colour, yellow-green speckled with ivory, beautiful rich and numerous perlage and good firm froth. This sparkling wine has a light texture, very dynamic. The nose is very fine, so delicate that it seems shy: it is instead long-lasting, linear, almost without falling off towards the end. Fresh and green notes: some white fruits in the run-up to ageing and an underlying hint of mist and water vapour. Dry and anxious on the palate, dense with clinging sensations: from the first attack it takes the palate hostage with ease, leading to an open and sincere finish. Gentle and drinkable.
Production area: In our own vineyards with east-southeast exposure. Moraine soils, medium fertility, loose, with skeleton of medium depth.
Vinification: Vinification in white in pneumatic press with separation of first and second pressing. After 12 hours of decantation at 15°C, inoculation with selected yeasts for fermentation partly in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and partly in small oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation and racking precede the blending of the cuvée, which is bottled in spring after the addition of the "dosage", sealed with the crown cap and set aside for foaming.
Food pairing:
Serving temperature: 5°C sinking.
Ageing potential: more than 3 years.
Bottle size: 750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.
Allergens: wine can contain sulphites.
Producer: Il Mosnel Franciacorta In the very heart of Franciacorta, lies the centuries-old residence, its 16th-century winecellars and surrounding vineyards, all eloquent testimony to the age-old winemaking traditions that the Barboglio family inherited in 1836. That vocation grew and evolved, thanks to the efforts of Emanuela Barboglio, who planted the first specialised vineyards and adopted, in 1968, the newly-introduced Franciacorta DOC designation. In 1976, the Azienda Agricola Barzanò Barboglio became the current Mosnel, a term which in the local dialect refers to a pile of rocks, specifically the one on which rises the winery. Now at the winery’s helm is the fifth generation of winegrowers, Emanuela Barboglio’s children. Giulio Barzanò directs production and sales, while Lucia Barzanò oversees marketing, communication, and administration. The family can count on the support of a highly-professional staff, as well as experienced agronomy and winemaking consultants, all of whom meticulously supervise production and its constant development.
