Description:
Dense purple red in the glass. Intense aromas of black berries, amarena cherry and blackberry on the nose with spicy notes of pepper, licorice and dark chocolate. Pronounced and dense tannins on the palate with a lively freshness and juicy structure.
Grape variety:
Lagrein - South Tyrol DOC.
Production area:
Settequerce Terlano and Bolzano Dorf, vineyards south facing at 200 - 270 m a.s.l. with a slope up to 10%. Porphyry weathered soil.
Vinification:
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels for 15 - 18 days. Aging for 6 - 8 months in large wooden barrels of 50 hl, followed by a further refinement for 2 months in the bottle before being sold.
Food recommendations:
Braised or grilled game and beef, mature hard cheese.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.
Ageing potential:
more than 5 years.
