Description

Description: 
Brilliant golden yellow colour with rosé reflections. Summer in the glass, pleasant floral and white melon notes, ripe stone fruit, subtle nutmeg notes incorporated in a pleasant, light apricot flavour. Elegant and savoury taste, balanced sweet-acid ratio at the drink, pleasant mineral perception with a juicy note on the finish. 

Grape variety: 
90% Moscato Giallo, 10% Pinot Grigio - Alto Adige DOC 

Production area: 
Cardano on 330m above sea level, deep, sandy soil originating from the disintegration of porphyritic rocks. 

Vinification: 
Gentle whole-grape pressing, 12 hours of maceration, natural sedimentation of the must and controlled fermentation in stainless steel barrels. Batonnage until February with ageing "sur lies" until the beginning of January. 

Food pairing: 
The wine is excellent as an aperitif and goes well with Asian cuisine. 

Serving temperature: 
10 - 12°C. 

Ageing potential: 
more than 5 years. 

Bottle to: 
750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt.

The brothers Markus and Thomas Puff are responsible for the wine production at the impressively 700 year-old Pitznerhof in Cardano at the entrance to the Valle Isarco. Their farmhouse lies at an elevation of precisely 350 meters, but the three hectares of grape growing areas are on steep slopes with deep, sandy weathered porphyry soils. “We attempt to integrate the local conditions and the microclimate into the production process in the best possible way". And in the winery, there is also the underlying principle of working with the grapes gently. Thus the overall picture comes together of production that is close to nature along the entire chain. “We try to fulfill our responsibility by stressing nature as little as possible".
