Description: 
The Ortler semi hard cheese is named after the highest mountain in South Tyrol: the majestic Ortler. This mild cheese is enclosed in a firm, waxy rind. The inside of the cheese is pale to straw yellow and full of round or elongated holes. Its consistency in the mouth is compact, but at the same time smooth and slightly crumbly. Its aroma is complex, containing milky and nutty notes with a hint of pistacchio. The flavour is dominated by a pleasant sapidity, due to the addition of goat rennet. 

"Good things take time", that's why we take the time we need to make our favourite cheeses. Several months can pass before a Mila cheese is properly ripened. For this he has certainly reached his full taste and the desired consistency.

The base of our dairy products is the fresh milk of 2,400 mountain farming families throughout South Tyrol. Most farmers work with very small structures, on average only 14 cows stand in a barn of a Mila farmer. We collect the fresh milk 365 days a year and transform it to high-quality products.
