Description

Description: 
Light yellow colour with light greenish reflections. On the nose ripe pear and melon. Creamy and round on the palate. 

Grape variety: 
Pinot Grigio South Tyrol DOC 

Production area: 
Several vineyards near the village centre of San Michele (400 - 550m). Exposure: South, South/East. Gravelly soils with limestone content and moraine deposits. 

Vinification: 
The main part (80%) is fermented in steel vats. The remainder (20%) in wooden barrels with subsequent malolactic fermentation. In March the two wines are blended together. 

Food pairing: 
This full-bodied white wine goes well with fish and 'brodetto di pesce', guinea fowl breast and veal fillet. 

Serving temperature:
8 - 10°C. 

Ageing potential:
more than 5 years.

In particular, the vineyards in and around Appiano offer the ideal conditions for varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Yellow Muscat, and Pinot Noir. 
But for well-structures red wines, outstanding small vineyards are found at lower elevations and along the Wine Route. The mild and sunny climate forms the basis for the unique quality of the wines.
