Description:
Full-bodied Merlot with luxurious aromas of black cherries, plums, raspberries, cedar and wet slate, mingling with notes of chocolate and sweet spices. On the palate, velvety tannins add nuance and refinement to a round, fleshy structure, with flavours of black and red fruits, figs and metallic, earthy notes leading the wine to a long, resonant finish.

Production area:
Since the first harvest in 1978, the winery has been proud to produce a Merlot designated from the legendary Three Palms vineyard. Named after the three iconic palm trees, this warm upper valley vineyard features lean soils that encourage the vines to push their roots deep in search of nutrients, resulting in a deep, intense and age-worthy wine with complex layers of fruit and minerals.
Vinification:
Aged for 18 months in 100% French oak, 75% new, 25% used.
Food pairing:
A very versatile wine that goes well with a variety of dishes such as pasta with meat sauces, duck dishes and grilled meats.
Serving temperature:
16 - 18°C.

Founded in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn, Duckhorn Vineyards was among the pioneers of Napa Valley and has been producing classics of the region for over 40 years. After the first harvest in 1978 of 800 cases of Merlot and 800 cases of Cabernet, the iconic Sauvignon Blanc was added in 1982.
