Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza Glabra) has been known for its properties since ancient times, including as a remedy for hunger and thirst.
The Greek botanist Theophrastus claimed that the Assyrians could survive for days in the desert by chewing only the roots of this plant.
The Poli family decided to combine the taste and properties of the roots of this medicinal plant with the warmth of grappa, obtained by distilling the freshest marcs from the vineyards in their area.
The root used in this grappa comes from the Amarelli company in Calabria, where the best liquorice in the world is grown.
Poli Liquirizia is a grappa with a sweet and pleasantly bitter aroma; it is as invigorating as an oasis in the desert.
