Rum Distillery Collection N.3 Pot Still Rum 47% vol. Diplomatico Rum

The Distillery Collection is a limited edition showcasing the fruit of Diplomático's various distillation processes. Characterised by the individual personality of each rum, Distillery Collection No. 3 presents the most classic and rare expression: Copper Pot Still Rum. 

The Copper Pot Still still was brought to the La Miel distillery in 1959. This discontinuous distillation method was originally used in Scotland for the production of whisky. Produced using the finest selection of sugar cane honeys, the distillates are aged in American white oak casks until they reach perfect maturity, resulting in a complex rum. This rum represents the heart of Diplomático's flavour profile. 

Through distillation in Pot Still, a very complex distillate is produced, thanks to the use of sugar cane honeys and a prolonged fermentation process that allows the development of rich scents and aromas. During the distillation process, the rum develops a further sensory profile, combining red and tropical fruits with underlying notes of toffee and vanilla. Balanced and well-structured on the palate, where notes of wood combine with coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is long and persistent. Best expresses its personality when enjoyed neat.

The Diplomático distillery is located at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Venezuela, where the purest waters flow. This location was also carefully selected for its proximity to the main sugar cane processing plants. Founded in 1959, Licorerías Unidas S.A (LUSA) owned the distillery through its main shareholder, Seagram's International, one of the largest wine and spirits companies in the world. In 2002, LUSA was sold to a group of Venezuelan entrepreneurs and became a 100% private Venezuelan company with the current name: Destilerías Unidas S. A. (DUSA). The distillery is unique in that it houses three different distillation processes that, combined with mastery in the art of blending, produce iconic rums such as the world-acclaimed Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva. Diplomático places a high value on quality and authenticity in the production process, supporting employees and the local community, and protecting the environment through its "Distilled Consciously" platform with sustainable production practices. Indeed, as part of Diplomático's philosophy, respecting and protecting the environment has always been one of its main objectives. From the outset, DUSA has set up a system to manage by-products, recycle waste and optimise resources. Thanks to the quality of its products and its social and environmental commitment, among other recognitions, in 2018 the important magazine Wine Enthusiast awarded Diplomático as "Spirit Brand of the Year". Awarded to a rum company for the first time, this award recognises companies and individuals whose vision has had an effect on the spirits industry.
